CT Bill May Lead to Arming Judicial Marshals

House Bill 7215 is working its way through the Connecticut General Assembly, hoping to add an armed Judicial Marshal at every courthouse in Connecticut.  While the bill has been supported by the Marshal community, there has been some opposition from state judges.

Those in support of the bill, including IBPO Local 731 President Joe Gaetano, believe that it will an added deterrent to problems often seen at many courthouses.  Those in opposition do not believe that firearms are an appropriate way to bring more security to the courts.
