IBPO National Executive Board Member to Join Federal Agency

Kip Wills, a member of the IBPO national executive board and an officer with the Boise, Idaho police department, has accepted an offer to work for the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration.

Wills, a longtime traffic officer, will begin working in Washington, D.C. in mid-September, where he will run enforcement programs in the foreign borders division of the agency. The FMCSA, a separate administration within the U.S. Department of Transportation, works to reduce the number of crashes, injuries and fatalities involving large trucks and buses.

"Our loss is the administration’s gain," said David J. Holway, IBPO national president. "Kip has served his own members and IBPO members everywhere with distinction and character. I’m certain he'll bring the same qualities to the FMCSA."

Wills said, "I appreciate the opportunity to serve for the last seven years. Serving on the national executive board was a good learning experience and I hope my service benefited the members, as well."
