The U.S. Department of Justice has filed suit against another bulletproof vest manufacturer. In August, the DOJ sued First Choice Armor and equipment, based in Braintree, Massachusetts, and its president and founder for submitting false claims for body armor purchased with federal funds for law enforcement agencies across the country. The suit is the latest involving companies that manufactured and sold bulletproof vests using Zylon, a fabric that degraded in real-world conditions much faster than manufacturers predicted.
